Tai chi is an ancient Chinese tradition that is practiced as a graceful form of exercise involving a series of movements performed in a slow, focused manner and accompanied by deep breathing. Originally developed for self-defense, tai chi has is now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Terrence Scott has over 15 years of instruction and practice in the ancient Chinese arts of Tai Chi, Chi Kung (Energy Work), and in the Internal Yogas and Meditations from both Taoist and Buddhist traditions for healing, martial arts, personal growth, and spiritual cultivation. He is also a practitioner of several other soul, mind, body practices from India, Hawaii, Native, and metaphysical traditions.
For 10 years Si Hing Scott has been teaching group and private classes of all ages, teaching seminars, workshops, and retreats. He has taught with PATH (People Assisting The Homeless), and has been instrumental in developing Tai Chi and Chi Kung clinics for the hospital environment.
He also initiated the S.A.G.E. Program, a fitness program which uses Personal Fitness, Kung Fu, Chi Kung, Tai Chi, and Yoga to make it fun for children to exercise and meditate, which is currently being implemented at Escuela Plus Elementary.
